Honeypot is delighted and honoured to be The London Season’s Charity
The Directors and Trustees of The Honeypot Children’s Charity are both deeply grateful and extremely excited to have been chosen as The London Season’s Charity of the Year 2021.
Who is Honeypot and what do we do?
Our organisations share a common goal and mission: to improve the lives of the most needy children in the UK. Honeypot supports and nurtures young carers and other disadvantaged children from the age of five years old until their 13th birthday. Young carers look after a sick or disabled parent or sibling, caring for their personal needs, administering medication, carrying out housework, shopping, preparing meals, all while providing emotional support and comfort. Many of these children are on call 24/7, 365 days a year.
Honeypot provides a range of Wrap-Round support services that aim to reduce a child’s stress and anxiety, alleviate their social isolation and exclusion and builds their stability and emotional resilience to enable them to succeed at school. Wellbeing grants are also available for essential life items.
Included within our range of support services is Honeypot’s flagship Residential Respite Breaks at our beautiful Houses in Exbury, in the New Forest, and Pen y Bryn, Mid Wales, where thousands of children enjoy an experience of a lifetime. Here, we provide Social and Emotional Active Learning to help young carers overcome their educational under performance due to their caring responsibilities, and Digital Outreach, to build a social network to alleviate isolation.
